Ultra Roof Restorations

A tired roof, brought back to its best.

A full restoration can transform the look of your home. Jed repairs, repoints and recoats the roof so it looks renewed and is properly protected again.

Signs your roof is ready for restoration

  • Faded, patchy colour

Tiles and metal lose their colour and coating over time, and the whole house can look older for it.

  • Cracked ridge pointing

Widespread cracking along the ridges is a sign the roof needs more than a patch-up.

  • Moss, lichen and staining

Growth holds moisture against the tiles and speeds up wear.

  • Porous tiles

Older concrete tiles lose their surface seal and start absorbing water. Recoating restores protection.

Inside a tiled roof

What’s under your tiles?

A tiled roof is a system. Knowing which part has failed is the difference between a quick repair and a full restoration.

  1. 01

    Tiles

The layer you can see. Over time the surface fades and becomes porous; restoration cleans, seals and recoats it.

  2. 02

    Ridge capping and pointing

The caps along the ridges are bedded and pointed. Cracked pointing is one of the most common causes of leaks.

  3. 03

    Sarking

A protective sheet under the tiles, where fitted. It helps direct any water that gets past the tiles back to the gutters.

  4. 04

    Battens and frame

The timber the tiles hang on. Leaks left too long can damage battens, turning a small repair into a bigger job.

Finishes

Choosing your finish

  • Tile roof painting

Concrete and terracotta tiles cleaned, sealed and recoated, in the original colour or a new one.

  • Colorbond repainting

Metal roofs prepared and repainted to refresh faded or chalky sheets.

  • Colour advice

A new roof colour can change the whole look of a home. Jed can talk you through options that suit it.

What affects the price

Every quote is specific to your roof, so you know exactly what’s included.

  • Roof size, height and pitch
  • Tile or metal, and its condition
  • How many tiles need replacing
  • How much ridge capping needs rebedding and repointing
  • The coating system and colour

Step by step

A typical restoration

  • 01

    Clean

The roof is high-pressure cleaned to remove dirt, moss and lichen.

  • 02

    Repair

Broken tiles are replaced and ridge capping rebedded and repointed where needed.

  • 03

    Seal and prime

The surface is prepared so the coating bonds properly.

  • 04

    Recoat

Finishing coats go on in your chosen colour, for a roof that looks renewed.

Roof restoration questions

Common questions.

How long does a restoration take?

It depends on the roof, the work needed and the weather. Jed will give you an idea of timing with your quote.

Can I change colour?

Often, yes. Ask Jed which colours and coatings suit your roof.

Is restoration cheaper than a new roof?

Restoration is usually far less disruptive than replacing a roof. Whether it’s right for your roof depends on its condition, which Jed will explain.
